Vaughan Michell
|
Michell, V. (VAUGHAN) is an Informatics Lecturer and Business Technology Consulting Programme Director within the Informatics Research Centre at Henley Business School in UK. He is also an honorary Senior Lecturer in Health Informatics in the Simulation Unit at the Royal Berkshire Hospital. Vaughan's research focuses on the informatics of the business and technology interface at the design and operational level. He supervises PhD students in health informatics and related areas and has published papers in the areas of health informatics, patient safety, clinical pathways, medical device capability and cognition. Research interests include: affordance and human and machine capability, 3d printing, Internet of Things, knowledge intensive processes device design/invention and man-machine interaction. Vaughan has a BSc in Mechanical Engineering from UCL (UK), an MBA from Warwick University (UK) and a D.Phil in Robotics & Image Processing from Oxford University (UK). Vaughan worked at Vosper Thornycroft, as IT Management Consultant at Andersen Consulting and Dun and Bradstreet, and VP process and systems design and process reengineering at Citibank, Credit Suisse, Reengineering Morgan Stanley, JP Morgan and an ED at UBS where he started research in knowledge intensive processes.

Boris Shishkov (Chairman)
|
Shishkov, B.B. (BORIS) is the Chairman of IICREST and an Associate Professor in Enterprise Information Systems at the University of Library Studies and Information Technologies in Bulgaria, being also a Researcher at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences - IMI and recently, a Visiting Professor at Delft University of Technology in The Netherlands, following previous positions in The Netherlands, namely: Assistant Professor (Delft University of Technology), Researcher (University of Twente), and Postdoc (University of Twente). Boris has contributed to a number of R&D Projects in The Netherlands, such as: DP-ICC: Delft Pilot - International Criminal Court, Li-La (Library of Labs): Portal-Based Access to Virtual Labs and Remote Experiments, the Freeband AWARENESS and A-MUSE projects on context-aware service provisioning, and so on. Dr. Shishkov has also contributed to EU projects, such as the FP7 COncORDE: Development of Coordination Mechanisms During Different Kinds of Emergencies, the FP7 FRACTALS: Future Internet Enabled Agricultural Applications, the European AOSD project on aspect-oriented software development, and so on. He has initiated and currently leads also the Uniccord Research Center that has colaborated with prestigious institutions, such as Delft University of Technology. Boris received his Master degree in Management Information Systems from Sofia University (Bulgaria) and his Ph.D. degree in Computer Science from Delft University of Technology (The Netherlands). His main research interests include: modeling and design of enterprise systems, and engineering the ICT applications to support them as well as service oriented computing and its impact on the way applications are being engineered. He has published 3 books (PhD Thesis included) and over 70 peer-reviewed scientific articles in the areas of Enterprise Modeling and Software Design. He has edited tens of books and has served as a member of the program committee, or as a member of the organizing committee, as conference chair or program chair, in many conferences/workshops (Dr. Shishkov has established and currently leads (for 10 years already) the prestigious BMSD symposium - www.is-bmsd.org).

Sinderen, van, M.J. (MARTEN) is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mathematics and Computer Science (EEMCS) of the University of Twente, Enschede, The Netherlands. He is a member of the Information Systems (IS) group since 2008, and before that led the Architecture and Services of Network Applications (ASNA) group between 2004 and 2008. He is currently also coordinator of research in the area of Service Architectures and Health Applications, on behalf of the Centre for Telematics and Information Technology (CTIT), the ICT research institute of the University of Twente. During his professional career, he has been active in the areas of network interconnection, communication protocols, middleware, application protocols, and enterprise interoperability. His current main research interests are design methods and architectures for networked systems, particularly mobile middleware, service platforms, and context-aware mobile applications. Among the design paradigms being considered are Service Oriented Architecture, Model Driven Architecture and the Semantic Services. He was co-chairman of the Program 12 Committee of EDOC 2004, and general (co-) chair of IDMS 2000, PROMS 2001, EDOC 2005 and EUNICE 2007. He has been a member of the steering committees of IDMS, PROMS, MIPS and EDOC, and involved in numerous program committees of major international conferences, including INFOCOM 2006 and ECMDA 2005, 2006 and 2007. He participated in European initiatives/projects including MODA-TEL (Model Driven Architecture for Telecommunications Systems Development and Operations, IST 37785), E-NEXT (Emerging Networking Experiments and Technologies, IST 506869), AMIGO (Ambient Intelligence for the Networked Home Environment, IST 004182), and SPICE (Service Platform for Innovative Communication Environment, IST 027617). He currently leads the Dutch Freeband A-MUSE project (BSIK 03025) on model-driven service design for context-aware mobile applications, and the Dutch GenCom U-Care project (IGC0816) on user-tailorable healthcare services for the home environment. He was invited reviewer for the European Union of C-ARCTIC (Concurrent Environment and Architecture for Telecollaboration Integrated in the Company, IST 1999-20087). He is a member of the Editorial Board of the Enterprise Information Systems journal, published by Taylor & Francis. Mitrakos, D. (DIMITRIS) is an Associate Professor at the Department of Electrical Engineering, School of Engineering, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece. His research interests include internet computing, multimedia communications, sensor and digital telemetry networks and distributed control and teleoperations systems. Dimitris has a Diploma in Electrical Engineering from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, an MSc in Communications Engineering from University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology, a DIC in Signal Processing and a PhD in Electrical Engineering from University of London Imperial College of Science and Technology. In the recent past, he has been Vice-Chairman of the Electrical Engineering Department and Director of the Electronics and Computer Section of the Electrical Engineering Department of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. Today he is member of the Managing Board and Director of Postgraduate Studies of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki Interdisciplinary Postgraduate Program in 'Language and Communications Sciences'. Since early 90s Dimitris has been member of Workprogramme Preparation Committees, Proposal Technical Evaluation Committees, Evaluation Process Assessment Committees and Project Technical Review Committees for the European Commission Advanced Informatics in Medicine, Telematics for Education, Trans-European Networks, COPERNICUS, ERDF Article 10, MEDIA Plus and Information Society Technologies Programs. Filipe, J.B. (JOAQUIM) is a Coordinator Professor in the Department of Systems and Informatics of the School of Technology of the Polytechnic Institute of Setubal (EST-Setubal), currently Head of Department and also Member of the Board of the Interdisciplinary Institute for Collaboration and Research on Enterprise Systems and Technology (IICREST). He holds an M.Sc. degree awarded by the Technical University of Lisbon, Portugal, in 1984, an MBA degree, awarded by the New University of Lisbon in 1995, and a PhD degree, awarded by the School of Computing of Staffordshire University, UK, in 2001. His main areas of research are situated in the Informatics field, especially in Artificial Intelligence and Multi-Agent System applications with an emphasis on the study of social issues in activity coordination, including agent-based organizational modeling and simulation, where he has been actively involved in several national and international R&D projects. He is also interested in applying Organizational Semiotics to the analysis and development of Information Systems, having participated in several projects for developing e-learning systems and web-based information systems. Professor Filipe has published over 50 technical papers in the areas of Artificial Intelligence, Agents and Organizational Modeling. He has edited more than 20 books and he is a member of the editorial board of 7 journals. He has been an invited keynote speaker and also served as a member of the program committee, or as a member of the organizing committee, as conference chair or program chair, in more than 30 conferences.

Dimitri Konstantas

Konstantas, D. (DIMITRI) is a Professor and Vice-Dean at the Faculty of Social and Economic Sciences of the University of Geneva (CH), department of Information Systems, heading the Advanced Systems Group (ASG). He was previously professor and Chair of the APS group at the University of Twente, assistant prof. at the University of Geneva and research collaborator at the Institute of Computer Science at FORTH (Crete, Greece). He has served as consultant to difference European companies, and acts as scientific expert for the European commission, the Dutch, Canadian and USA national research foundations, having also served as expert for the Greek, and Luxembourg governments. For the last 20 years, Professor Konstantas, is active in research in the areas of Object Oriented systems, agent technologies, Multimedia applications and e-commerce services, with numerous publications in international conferences, journals, books and book chapters and a long participation and leadership since 1985 in many European projects. Since 2002 his main research and work areas are mobile and wireless multimedia applications and services, including mobile health and location based services. Professor Konstantas is member of the e-Mobility ETP, founding member of the ERCIM e-mobility WG, member of the Ericsson Think-Tank, as well as different scientific associations including IEEE and ACM.

Mihail Konstantinov
|
Konstantinov, M.M. (MIHAIL or Misho), born March 5, 1948 and married with three sons, is a Professor in Mathematics with the University of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Geodesy (UACEG). He has been Vice-Chancellor of UACEG in the period 1999-2003. Professor Konstantinov is is currently a member of numerous scientific councils and commissions. He has (co-)authored more than 30 books and 500 scientific papers. He has participated in international scientific projects of EU and NATO, and visited as honorary fellow and lecturer British, German and French universities. Prof. Konstantinov is: (i) Member and Vice Chair of the Central Election Commission of Bulgaria; (ii) Voting coordinator of OSCE (1997-); (iii) Representative of Bulgaria at the Council of Europe on electronic voting. In addition to the scientific papers he has authored, he has authored also more than 300 articles in Bulgarian editions devoted to social and political issues with emphasis on election practice and legislation. His biographical data is published in 10 biographical editions, including Who's Who in The World.

Neynsky, N.N. (NADEZHDA) is a Member of the European Parliament. She is a former Vice-President of the Bulgarian Parliament and Bulgarian Foreign Minister. She held the Vice Presidency of the European People's Party for two consecutive terms. During her Vice Presidency, she led the center-right Union of Democratic Forces (the main Bulgarian anti-communist political party which has inspired and led the reforms in the transition to Democracy) within which she initiated the political movement known as 'The Right Alternative', promoting respect of human values and pro-Western orientation for Bulgaria. Her interests and achievements relate to the areas of diplomacy, security and youth policy. She received her Master degree in Linguistics from Sofia University (Bulgaria) and she specialized in Foreign Policy and Public Relations at Harvard University in the United States.
